Oman: SMS Features and Restrictions

As with many destinations in the Middle East, Oman is a difficult market to deliver messages to. Numerous filters are in place to block SMS and even legitimate A2P traffic can often be blocked. To prevent filtering, Nexmo is pleased to inform you that we have direct connections into all networks in Oman.

Sender ID:

Sender ID may be overwritten to a random alpha sender to ensure delivery. The networks currently require all sender IDs to be replaced with a fixed sender, we will generally use 'NXSMS'.

We recommend you register your sender ID with us to avoid filtering and forcing, this can be done through your account manager.

Due to operator restrictions in Oman, marketing traffic is not permitted and likely to be blocked
There are no additional content restrictions beyond those in our Acceptable Use Policy

Unicode is supported to all networks.

Concatenated messages:

Concatenated messages are supported to all networks.

Other features/restrictions of note:

Delivery Receipts:
Handset delivery receipts are not always supported.
