UAE: SMS Features and Restrictions

As with many countries in the Middle East, SMS messages to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are heavily filtered by carriers. Some carriers may choose to force unregistered customers to a different alphanumeric Sender ID or even filter these and reject the messages.

Sender ID:

To avoid filtering, we recommend you register your sender ID with us, this can be done through your account manager. Please note, generic senders will not be accepted.

Promotional Marketing:

Marketing or promotional traffic must include an opt-out service to shortcode 7726, or is at risk of being rejected. E.g. each message should include the following: "To stop receiving [sender ID name] to 7726" or similar.

Also, please ensure for marketing or promotional traffic, the sender ID (which needs to be registered) ends in -AD.

All marketing will be subject to time restrictions set by the operators. No promotional content may be sent outside of 9am and 7pm local time.
