Cuba: SMS Features and Restrictions

Sender ID:

All A2P (application to person) traffic to Cuba (the only network is CubaCel (36801)) must have the Sender ID whitelisted before the traffic will be accepted.

To register your use case or whitelist your Sender ID (alpha only), please contact support@nexmo.com, but be aware that we are unable to guarantee or indicate any timelines for activation.

A2P:

Due to restrictions from the local mobile operator, all A2P (application to person) traffic to Cuba (the only network is CubaCel (36801)) must have the Sender ID whitelisted before the traffic will be accepted.

Although all registration requests are being passed on to the network for activation, Nexmo and all other participants are experiencing severe delays and little feedback on the expected timelines. Additionally, in our experience, only globally recognisable brands are likely to be successfully registered.
