Answer

Yes, Unicode encoding is used to send any character that is not in the default GSM char table.

Unicode is useful to support languages such as Arabic.

To send Unicode message, please add the "type=unicode" parameter for HTTP users or set DCS=8 for SMPP users.

NOTE: Maximum length allowed for unicode content is 70 characters, whilst text messages will allow up to 160 characters.
