It is not possible to serve a new NCCO when an endpoint goes to voicemail using a Synchronous Connect action. When Machine Detection detects a voicemail system has answered the call, the call has been answered and so the Connect action will have bridged the 2 calls already. At this point, it will be too late to keep the first call leg waiting and so you will not be able to serve a new NCCO. You can transfer a call to a new NCCO at this point and send a hangup to the call answered by voicemail using an API request: Modify an existing call
