When do you download my file when using Voice API?


  • When is the NCCO downloaded?
  • When is the audio file for a stream downloaded?
  • When is the MP3 file downloaded?
  • When is the WAV file downloaded?


When using the Voice API, Nexmo will download the file when it is required.


The Nexmo Call Control Object (NCCO) is downloaded when a call is answered. For an outbound call, this will be when the first recipient answers. For an inbound call, Nexmo will answer the call and then download the NCCO.


Stream/Audio File
The audio file for a stream action is downloaded when it is needed. This means that the MP3 or WAV file will be downloaded when the Voice API reaches the stream action. If you have actions before your stream, these will be processed before the file is downloaded.
